Insight Health announced today that it has closed an $11 million Series A funding round to expand its autonomous clinical agent platform. Standard Capital led the investment, with additional backing from ElevenLabs, Pear VC, and Kindred Ventures. The Austin-based startup aims to solve the trillion-dollar administrative crisis that currently plagues the United States healthcare system. Medical practices nationwide are struggling with severe administrative overhead, which often leads to 50% staff turnover within two years. Doctors currently spend approximately one-third of their time on paperwork rather than patient care. Insight Health addresses this by deploying voice-first AI agents that automate routine tasks across the clinical spectrum.
The platform features an agentic architecture designed to handle complex workflows including pre-clinical intake, referral processing, and front-desk coordination. Their Lumi agent conducts automated patient interviews before appointments to build structured medical histories. Meanwhile, the Aura AI Scribe captures in-visit conversations and generates formatted notes directly within electronic health record systems. To date, the company has facilitated more than 3 million autonomous clinical conversations with patients. Partner organizations such as The Oregon Clinic and Pacific Sports & Spine report collective savings of over $50 million in annual administrative costs. These efficiencies allow clinicians to focus on high-value medical decisions instead of manual data entry.
CEO Jaimal Soni noted that 2026 marks the year patient-facing AI truly takes off in the medical sector. The company plans to use the Series A capital to accelerate product development and broaden its partnerships with major health systems. By automating the friction of daily operations, Insight Health seeks to ensure that administrative burdens no longer stand between doctors and their patients.
This investment signals a pivotal shift in healthcare technology from passive documentation tools to active autonomous agents. While the first wave of medical AI focused on simple transcription, Insight Health is pioneering a full-stack approach that handles the entire patient lifecycle. By integrating deeply with major electronic health record systems like Epic and athenahealth, the company is moving toward a future where AI acts as a digital member of the clinical team rather than just a software utility. The high concentration of medical doctors on the founding team suggests that the industry is prioritizing clinical safety and practical workflow integration over generic automation.
