Google Cloud Next 2026 kicked off today with a primary focus on the transition to the Agentic Enterprise, a new era where autonomous AI agents handle complex, multi-step business tasks. CEO Thomas Kurian positioned Google as a vertically integrated leader, offering a unified stack from specialized silicon to productivity software. The event highlighted that nearly 75 percent of Google Cloud customers are now using AI products, with model usage growing to over 16 billion tokens processed per minute. To support these demands, Google unveiled its eighth-generation Tensor Processing Units, featuring two distinct chips for the first time. The TPU 8t is engineered for massive model training, while the TPU 8i is co-designed with MediaTek specifically for real-time agent inference and reasoning.
