HUMAIN has officially announced a $3 billion strategic investment in xAI as part of its Series E financing round. This capital deployment occurred just before xAI was acquired by SpaceX in a historic merger earlier this month. As a result of this transaction, HUMAIN has transitioned from a direct xAI investor to a significant minority shareholder in SpaceX. The move represents a major milestone for the Saudi-backed firm as it secures a long-term equity position in the combined technology giant.
This transaction serves as both a massive funding injection and an expansion of a deep strategic partnership. While the $3 billion provides the capital needed for scaling frontier models, it also reinforces a November 2025 agreement to build AI infrastructure. HUMAIN and xAI are currently developing over 500MW of next-generation data center capacity within Saudi Arabia. This dual approach ensures that HUMAIN provides the sovereign infrastructure required to run advanced AI models like Grok locally.
CEO Tareq Amin noted that the investment reflects HUMAIN’s conviction in transformational technology and technical excellence. He described the acquisition by SpaceX as one of the largest technology mergers on record. The combined entity is now estimated to be worth approximately $1.25 trillion. This valuation highlights the growing intersection between aerospace engineering and artificial intelligence capabilities.
Looking ahead, xAI is expected to integrate deeply with SpaceX's orbital technology. The primary objective is to leverage Starlink satellites to host AI compute in space, which could solve terrestrial energy shortages. This strategy focuses on a vertical integration model that combines connectivity, power, and high-speed processing. The Grok models will likely scale to manage the immense data flows generated by the global SpaceX network.
The partnership also positions Saudi Arabia as a primary global hub for AI development outside of the United States and China. By controlling the full-stack of AI capabilities, from hardware to sovereign data centers, HUMAIN is securing its role in the global tech ecosystem. This latest investment is part of a broader strategy to support category-defining platforms through significant capital. More information can be found on the official HUMAIN website.
This move signals a massive shift where AI development is no longer just about software, but about securing the massive energy and infrastructure needed for next-generation models. By merging with SpaceX, xAI gains access to orbital compute potential and global connectivity through Starlink, bypassing traditional terrestrial power constraints. For the industry, HUMAIN’s involvement cements Saudi Arabia as a primary power broker in the AI energy game. This strategic alignment suggests that the future of frontier AI will be vertically integrated across space, energy, and high-performance computing.
