Cloudera announced on August 19, 2026 Cloudera Anywhere Cloud, a hybrid platform for building and scaling data and AI applications across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. The company says the product can run standalone or alongside existing data lakes, with modular services, self-service provisioning, and an agentic copilot that automates workflows against proprietary data without forcing bulk migration.
The launch targets enterprises stuck between cloud-native speed and sovereignty requirements. Cloudera cites research in which 73% of IT leaders said infrastructure performance constraints hindered operational initiatives. Anywhere Cloud is designed as a single control plane for public clouds, sovereign infrastructure, and private data centers, with centralized zero-trust governance and open interoperability via Apache Iceberg, the Polaris catalog, and unified APIs.
Marketplace engines and design partners
Customers can deploy Cloudera engines such as Spark, Kafka, or Trino, plus other open-source or partner engines, through marketplace blueprints. Agentic copilots are meant to turn plain-language requests into automated data or infrastructure workflows while inheriting corporate guardrails. Design partners named in the release include ADMIRAL Technologies, ExxonMobil, IQVIA, IXEN.ai, and Mastercard.
Chief Product Officer Leo Brunnick said enterprises should not have to choose between innovation and control. Cloudera showcased Anywhere Cloud at its EVOLVE event in Singapore and is promoting webinars for broader rollout.
Decoded Take
Cloudera is reframing the lakehouse fight around agentic operations rather than another storage format war. Iceberg plus a control plane is table stakes; the differentiator will be whether the copilot can safely change production estates without creating a new shadow-IT problem. Watch whether the named design partners publish production case studies, and whether Anywhere Cloud revenue shows up as net-new platform seats or as packaging for existing Cloudera accounts.
