TBWA\Singapore Establishes Regional Hub for AI Innovation

TBWA\Singapore officially launched its Innovation Lab on February 26, 2026, marking the network's first Centre of Excellence in the Asia-Pacific region. Established with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the facility serves as a regional proving ground for AI-led brand innovation. The initiative aims to help companies translate technological ambition into scalable business models and intelligent systems.

Unlike traditional labs that focus on long-term, high-cost projects, this Centre of Excellence prioritizes rapid prototyping and disciplined scale. By collapsing timelines for insight and production, the agency can now develop immersive brand experiences in weeks instead of months. This build, test, and learn approach ensures that only the most commercially sound ideas move into production and earn the right to grow.

Artificial intelligence sits at the core of the Lab's operations, integrating bespoke AI agents directly into creative and strategic workflows. The facility also explores spatial computing and robotics to solve complex human challenges across sectors like education and service design. These technologies allow brands to create persistent digital environments that audiences can interact with over time rather than passively consuming content.

CEO Mandy Wong stated that the Lab exists to ensure technological speed is used responsibly to create real value rather than industry hype. Head of Innovation Mel Daniels added that the goal is to make complex ideas real and usable where creativity and systems collide. This philosophy moves the agency beyond simple content generation into the realm of experience engineering.

Talent development is another critical pillar of the new initiative under the leadership of Mandy Goh. The Lab operates as a live incubation platform to train employees in the hybrid skillsets required for the future advertising landscape. By blending systems thinking with cultural intelligence, the agency prepares for roles that do not yet formally exist.

Junie Fo, Vice President at EDB, noted that the Lab will help develop a pipeline of AI-savvy talent through partnerships with local institutes of higher learning. This alignment supports Singapore's broader national strategy to significantly expand its AI workforce in the coming years. The Lab formalizes capabilities TBWA has already proven, such as immersive platforms developed for the local arts and culture industry.
