Stellantis and Microsoft Corp. announced a five-year strategic collaboration on Thursday to accelerate the automaker's digital transformation. The partnership focuses on co-developing advanced artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and engineering capabilities to modernize global operations. This alliance aims to enhance customer experiences by integrating high-tech solutions directly into the vehicle ecosystem. The joint teams are launching more than 100 AI initiatives targeting product development, sales, and customer care. By migrating its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, Stellantis plans to reduce its global datacenter footprint by 60 percent by 2029. Advancing Safety and Innovation

A key component of the deal involves the creation of a new AI-driven global cyberdefense center. This facility will monitor manufacturing sites and connected vehicles to identify and neutralize digital threats in real time. These measures ensure that customer data remains protected while maintaining the integrity of vehicle operating systems. Drivers will see the impact of this technology through personalized features and improved reliability. Peugeot owners will receive energy-efficient driving recommendations, while Jeep drivers will benefit from secure connectivity even in remote off-road locations. These updates are meant to provide proactive vehicle-health insights and seamless digital service delivery.

Empowering the Global Workforce

Internally, Stellantis is equipping its global workforce with new productivity tools to foster faster innovation. This includes an initial rollout of 20,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses and access to Copilot Chat for all employees. A dedicated training program will help staff apply these AI capabilities to their daily tasks effectively.

Ned Curic, Stellantis Chief Engineering and Technology Officer, stated that the company is embedding AI directly into vehicles to create experiences customers love. Microsoft executive Judson Althoff added that the collaboration drives responsible AI transformation across the entire automotive value chain. Both leaders emphasized that the partnership provides real value to millions of drivers globally.

This strategic move builds on a longstanding relationship to leverage global scale and engineering expertise. By utilizing Microsoft’s trusted security platforms, Stellantis aims to streamline its supply chain and logistics operations.
