Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce on August 26, 2026, an expanded partnership that wires Claude into Salesforce data, workflows, business rules, and permissions. The first product is Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills. Sellers are supposed to prep meetings, check deal health, and update pipeline from Claude while actions still run through Salesforce controls.
The companies say the plugin sits on AIforce, Salesforce’s layer for exposing business data and workflows to agents through MCP servers, APIs, and command-line tools. An admin connects Salesforce once. Authentication and permissions stay centralized, and the rest of the team inherits access. Salesforce in Claude is in a limited pilot now and is scheduled for open beta in September 2026, with more skills later in the year.
Claude in Salesforce, Slack, and the other direction
The deal is not only a plugin. Claude is available inside Agentforce as a reasoning model for the Atlas engine, and it is the default for Agentforce Vibes, Agentforce Coworker, and Agent Builder. Through Amazon Bedrock, Claude can run inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary for customers that need to keep data and model traffic in a controlled environment.
Slack is the third surface. Salesforce says Claude is now the default model for Slack, including Slackbot, Claude Tag, and Slack Code. The pitch is that a team can reason in Slack and then fire a governed Salesforce action without changing apps. Internally, Salesforce says Slackbot has produced 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains, more than double the prior quarter.
The companies also described themselves as customers of each other. Salesforce is Anthropic’s preferred CRM and Slack is its preferred internal work surface. Claude is the default model across Slack AI, Slackbot, Headless 360, Agentforce Coworker, and Claude Code for Salesforce engineering. Salesforce said it will give Claude Code and Claude Enterprise to all of its developers and knowledge workers.
“Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn’t run a company, and deterministic systems don’t reason.” Marc Benioff, chair and CEO, Salesforce
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the point is to point Claude at customer records companies have spent decades putting in Salesforce, then use that context to run the business rather than summarize it.
Decoded Take
Claudeforce is Salesforce admitting that the interface for CRM may no longer be Salesforce’s own screens. If sellers live in Claude and Slack, the vendor that owns the system of record has to become a permissioned action layer or watch another model company sit on top of its data. The 37 skills and the September beta are the first test of whether those actions stay inside Salesforce rules when a deal moves, a discount is approved, or a forecast changes. Watch whether regulated customers actually turn on Claude inside the Trust Boundary, and whether Agentforce remains the place work is logged after the chat window becomes the place work is done.
