Strategic Growth through Engineering Excellence

iSchool, the leading K-12 AI and coding education platform in the MENA region, has announced the acquisition of Rubikal, a globally recognized software engineering company. This strategic move is designed to accelerate the development of iSchool’s next-generation AI products and technical infrastructure for schools. The integration aims to solidify the company's position as a foundational technology layer for educational institutions worldwide. As part of the acquisition, Rubikal’s leadership team and engineering talent will officially join iSchool to lead its technological expansion. Mohamed Ibrahim, Co-founder of Rubikal, will take the role of Chief Technology Officer, while Moustafa Badawy joins as Vice President of Engineering. The transaction also brings a specialized team of 21 software engineers into iSchool’s growing technology division to bolster its internal capabilities.

Fast-Tracking Proprietary AI Systems

The primary focus of this merger is the rapid development of iSchool’s proprietary AI-driven learning systems and platform infrastructure. CEO Muhammad Gawish stated that the synergy between the two companies was evident from their long-standing relationship. This move allows the firm to move faster toward building the essential technical tools that schools will depend on in the coming years. Before the acquisition, Rubikal served as a key engineering partner to iSchool for over three years, supporting the scaling of its tech platform. Rubikal has a history of delivering high-performance products for international giants such as The Walt Disney Company and Discovery Inc. This deep technical expertise will now be directed toward creating a comprehensive AI-powered ecosystem for K-12 students.

Expanding Global Footprint

With more than 150,000 graduates across over 20 countries, iSchool continues to expand its reach across the MENA region and beyond. The company recently secured 4.5 million dollars in funding to fuel its expansion into Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in its journey to become a global leader in accredited STEM education. iSchool’s curriculum is internationally accredited by STEM.org and focuses on building real-world projects in fields like machine learning and data science. By integrating Rubikal’s engineering prowess, the company is better positioned to handle large-scale institutional and government partnerships. The combined team will now focus on transforming the educational vision into a scalable, high-performance digital reality.

This acquisition represents a significant shift in the EdTech sector from offering basic content to providing foundational AI infrastructure. By absorbing a high-tier engineering house, iSchool is transitioning from a specialized tutoring service into a verticalized technology provider that owns its full development stack. In an industry where artificial intelligence is frequently treated as a supplementary feature, iSchool is betting on the deep integration of proprietary machine learning tools to personalize the classroom experience at a government and institutional scale.
