HEN Technologies has secured 22 million dollars in a Series A financing round to accelerate the rollout of the first intelligent operating system for fire defense. The funding consists of a 20 million dollar equity round led by O’Neil Strategic Capital and 2 million dollars in venture debt from Silicon Valley Bank. This capital brings the company’s total funding to over 30 million dollars as it seeks to modernize how global agencies combat wildfires.
The Hayward, California-based firm is deploying Fluid-IQ, a platform that combines advanced fluid dynamics with predictive AI models. By using IoT-enabled nozzles and valves, the system captures real-time data on water flow and pressure directly from the front lines. This hardware-first approach provides the essential data needed to transition from reactive tools to strategic, physics-informed decision support.
Field performance metrics indicate that HEN’s technology can extinguish fires three times faster than traditional methods while reducing water consumption by 67 percent. These efficiencies are critical as modern structures burn eight times faster than legacy buildings due to synthetic materials. Dr. Sunny Sethi, CEO of HEN Technologies, noted that the platform represents essential infrastructure for both climate resilience and national security.
The recent Palisades fire in Los Angeles served as a catalyst for this investment, resulting in over 50 billion dollars in damages. With annual wildfire costs in the United States reaching up to 800 billion dollars, the industry is seeking a paradigm shift. Investors like z21 Ventures and Tanas Capital believe this technology will redefine public safety by providing a predictive network for fire suppression.
With the new capital, the company plans to scale its global distributor network, which already operates in 20 countries. They are also expanding their technical operations and deploying over 100 product demonstration specialists to agencies worldwide. This expansion ensures that organizations like CAL FIRE and the U.S. military can continue to leverage high-performance, data-driven suppression systems.
By digitizing the physical act of firefighting, HEN Technologies is building a comprehensive operational dataset that was previously unavailable. This allows for the use of Physics-Informed Neural Networks to optimize strategy in real time. Ultimately, the company aims to replace outdated manual systems with a connected ecosystem that is more efficient and intelligently coordinated across the entire fireground.
