Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. announced a significant capital expenditure of approximately 55 billion yen, or 345 million dollars, to expand its data center infrastructure business. This investment focuses on the production of heat-dissipation and cooling products across several Asian countries. The move is a direct response to the surging demand for generative AI and high-speed digital transformation. The bulk of the investment, roughly 51 billion yen, is dedicated to water-cooling modules. These systems are essential for managing the extreme heat generated by next-generation AI processors that traditional air-cooling can no longer handle.
