By automating complex workflows like patient verification and medical coding, the platform seeks to streamline the entire care journey from the first phone call to final billing.

Advanced Agentic AI Capabilities

The platform utilizes autonomous AI agents that go beyond simple chatbots to execute multi-step tasks. These agents can handle natural language scheduling requests by checking insurance eligibility and provider availability in real time. Patients can book appointments instantly without waiting on hold, while the system integrates directly with existing Electronic Health Records to ensure data accuracy. Addressing the burnout crisis is a primary driver behind this launch, as staff currently spend up to 80% of call time on manual data entry. Research highlights that 89% of patients have switched providers due to navigation challenges like long wait times or scheduling difficulties. Amazon Connect Health intends to reclaim this lost time by allowing AI to manage the repetitive paperwork that clutters the medical experience.

Proven Operational Success

Early results from partners like UC San Diego Health indicate a major shift in operational efficiency. The health system saved approximately one minute per call and reduced call abandonment rates by up to 60% in specific departments.
